How we’ve been successful:

Donors - Our supplies are provided by pharmaceutical manufacturers and distributors, hospitals, clinics, community health centres, doctors, optometrists, dentists and nurses as well as the general public.

Medicines - We accept prescription and over-the-counter medicines. We do not handle any narcotics and we only accept items that are unopened and sealed.
Medical Supplies - We accept health care supplies and medical equipment, hospital uniforms and linens, eyeglasses and dental hygiene equipment and instruments that will fit in a normal-size suitcase.

Process - Supplies are packed in suitcases and persons traveling on business or vacation deliver these much-needed supplies to doctors and medical facilities at their travel destinations. The suitcase is delivered to, or picked up by the intended recipient. The suitcase is also left at the destination. This method ships up to 10 kilograms, in compliance with international humanitarian aid regulations.

Suitcases - Donations of regular-sized suitcases are requested from individuals and through unions, faith groups and service clubs.

Support - All of the "Not Just Tourists" projects provide reciprocal support and guidance on an on-going basis. Traveler feedback plays a great part in how we shape and adapt our policies. We also count on support from various Canadian solidarity networks.
